Buying a Refurbished Xbox

A refurbished Xbox is a used console that has been fully tested and restored to full working order before it is sold again. Every one is graded for condition, comes with a free 12-month warranty and is ready to play out of the box, which is the difference between buying from us and buying privately.

Series X or Series S?

This is the choice most people are making, and it comes down to two things.

The Series X has a disc drive and a 1TB drive. If you own physical games, buy pre-owned discs or want the most storage, it is the one to have. The Series S has no disc drive and a smaller 512GB drive, so everything is downloaded and you will manage your storage more actively, but it costs noticeably less and plays the same library.

Both play every current Xbox game. The Series X renders at a higher resolution, so on a 4K television the difference shows. On a 1080p screen the Series S is a solid performer and the better value of the two.

If you want the lowest price, an older refurbished Xbox One still plays a large library and remains our best value Xbox. Compare the full refurbished games console range.

FAQs

Should I buy a refurbished Xbox Series X or Series S?

Buy the Series X if you own physical games or want the most storage and the highest resolution. Buy the Series S if you download everything and want the lower price, since it plays the same games.

Does the Xbox Series S play disc games?

No. The Series S has no disc drive, so games are downloaded. If you have a physical collection you want to keep using, the Series X is the one to choose.

What is the difference between a refurbished and a second hand Xbox?

A second hand console bought privately comes as it is, with no checks and no warranty. Every refurbished Xbox here has been fully tested, graded for condition and comes with a free 12-month warranty.

Does a refurbished Xbox come with a controller?

Yes. Every console is supplied with a matching controller and the cables you need to start playing.

How long is the warranty on a refurbished Xbox?

Every console comes with a free 12-month warranty, and you have 30 days to return it if you change your mind.
