Every console is graded so you know its condition before you buy. A+ Pristine looks essentially new, A Excellent has only the faintest marks, B Good has some signs of use, and C Average carries heavier marks. Whichever grade you choose, it has been fully tested and works exactly as it should.
The first choice is whether you want a disc drive. A Disc Edition plays physical games and Blu-ray discs, which also lets you buy and sell pre-owned games to bring the running cost down. A Digital Edition has no drive, so it usually costs less up front and you download everything instead.
The second choice is the size. The original PS5 and the newer Slim play exactly the same games and perform identically. The Slim is smaller and lighter, so it suits a tighter shelf or a wall bracket. Neither is faster than the other.
The PS5 Pro is the one genuine step up. It renders games at a higher resolution and holds frame rates more steadily in the titles that support it, and it ships with a larger 2TB drive. If you play on a 4K television and care about image quality, it earns the difference. If you play on a 1080p screen, a standard PS5 does the same job for less.
