My Watch Won’t Connect To My iPhone

Support - Pairing and Connectivity

Not getting any notifications or calls? Open Control Centre on your watch and check the connection status. A red cross or a red phone icon with a line through it (often shown alongside the word “Disconnected”) means your watch and iPhone aren’t talking to each other. Once they reconnect, you’ll see a green phone icon instead.

Try these steps to reconnect:

  1. Keep your watch and iPhone close together so they’re within range.
  2. Open Control Centre and check that Airplane Mode is off and that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are both on.
  3. If anything’s switched off, turn it back on, and if Airplane Mode is on, switch it off.
  4. Restart both your watch and your iPhone.

If it still won’t connect, unpair and re-pair your devices:

  1. On your watch, go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
  2. On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app, tap the My Watch tab, then tap All Watches at the top of the screen. Tap the info (ⓘ) icon next to the watch you want to unpair, tap Unpair Apple Watch, then tap again to confirm.
  3. Pair your iPhone and watch again.
