- Force restart: Hold the power button for about 10 seconds until it shuts down, then press it again to start up.
Wi-Fi or Bluetooth problems
- Toggle the connection off and on.
- Forget the network/device and reconnect.
- Reset network settings if needed.
Slow, freezing or crashing
- Install the latest updates.
- Free up storage space.
- Restart; as a last resort, back up and reset.

Connect the charger and check for a charging light. Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3): hold the power button ~10s, release, then press again. Intel: try resetting the SMC and NVRAM.
Battery won’t charge / “Service recommended”
Check the adapter wattage and cable, try another port, and view battery condition in System Settings → Battery → Battery Health.

Open Activity Monitor to find heavy apps, free up storage, and review Login Items in System Settings.
Won’t boot to the desktop
Boot into Recovery — Apple Silicon: hold the power button until “Loading startup options”; Intel: hold Cmd-R at startup — then use Disk Utility / reinstall macOS.
