Welcome to your refurbished MacBook. Here’s how to get up and running.

First-time setup

1. Charge the MacBook before first use.
2. Power on and choose your language and region.
3. Connect to Wi-Fi.
4. Sign in with your account (or create one), then choose to restore from a backup or set up as new.
5. Install any available software updates.

Move your data across

• Quick Start: bring your old Apple device next to the new one and follow the prompts to transfer directly.
• From a backup: restore from an iCloud backup during setup, or from a computer (Finder/iTunes).

Migration Assistant, Apple ID & Touch ID

Use Migration Assistant to bring data from another Mac or a Time Machine backup, sign in with your Apple ID, and set up Touch ID and a login password.

Tip: Turn on automatic updates and set up biometrics (Face ID / Touch ID / fingerprint) while you’re in setup.
